Chopper’s Today

Text Box: ChopperDave attended a record-settting two weddings during October. The first, a family affair, which as mentioned on the cover, featured real bikers crying, was held during prime motorcycle season.
Only one week later, ChopperDave put aside his own needs and attended the wedding of the only professional baseball player ChopperDave knows. There was lots of crying at this wedding also.
The weather was similar at both weddings.
ChopperDave congratulates both couples on their nuptials with the double toast pictured at right!

Text Box: Weather-wise, planning a trip for late September in Minnesota can be troublesome. 2007’s southern Wisconsin “Live for Leaves” tour weather was excellent. This tour covered nearly 750 miles of the best roads in Minnesota, Wisconsin and even a bit of Iowa. If you haven’t toured this area, make your plans now and do it! Both sides of the St Croix and Mississippi Rivers are nice, but the bluff country and hills of southwest Wisconsin have to be some of the best motorcycling in the country. During our trip, the leaves had just begun to show their colors, however ChopperDave commented that had there been more color, he may have crashed.

In the wake of the 35W bridge collapse, ChopperDave has become keenly aware of all bridges and their construction. The picture below is the bridge in Lansing, IA. With its grate deck and picturesque setting, it was one of the highlights of the tour.

Pictured above is part of  the view from Granddad Bluff, just east of LaCrosse, WI.  The bluff is over 1200 feet above sea level and although it’s maybe 30 miles away...that’s Iowa in the distance.
